It is your impact on our local infrastructure that needs highlighting, due to the actions of your Procurement of car parks Manager Iain Young and the Chairman of Seascale Parish Council that is so unwelcomed. They did a deal a year ago for an upfront payment of £6,000 thereafter a continuing payment of a thousand pounds a month to have close on half our car park. At present the thereafter part of the deal is not being fulfilled. It would be better to keep your money and go. From this deal they transformed Seascale Village Car Park into a factory car park, commercialising it further by creating a bus terminal to serve the newly formed Park and Ride Schemes, including the fleet for the subsidiary contractors such as Engenda. What sets this newly formed factory facility from what was our village car park that has for years been the sole domain of the residents, visitors and local businesses? It is as follows:
At 06-00 hrs cars start arriving into the car park. For the next half-hour there are doors banging, expletives, shouting, horns tooting, headlights shining in bedroom windows. They take up the prime positions for the next 12 hrs of the day, also make it difficult for other users to find parking bays. Then there is the mass exodus in the evening. This is fine in your clients Sellafield's own car parks but not our community facility which the residents as stakeholders pay for in their council tax. Added to the Seascale Village car park , laybys, pub clubs and the electrical substation forecourts are used. To end this unacceptable use of our environs I have in the past year tried to actually talk to a responsible adult from NDA/Sellafield Sites, the corporate company executives and directors to no avail. I am convinced they are an Avatar in the virtual world of Sellafield, thus dismissing those of us in the real world. It will be easier to have a conversation with Major Tim Peake on the Space Station.
When are you going to vacate our car parks?
